Life Fitness from Karting to F1

Super Roo Racing has always understood that physical fitness plays a vital role in the development of kart drivers and that the time training is no less valuable than that of any other athlete.

Working together with our main sponsor, official distributors of Life Fitness in Thailand,

Seara Sports, Alex has shown impressive on-track improvement this year. Much of that performance has come from the exercise routines developed by Seara's professional staff using Life Fitness equipment.

At the other end of the scale, F1 racing Team, Williams, recently announced the extension of its partnership with Life Fitness, the global leader in commercial fitness equipment. Now in its sixth year, the partnership will see the continuation of Life Fitness as Official Fitness Equipment Supplier to the British-based Formula One team for the next five years.

As part of the extended agreement, the onsite gym at the the Williams F1 HQ will be refurbished with the latest equipment from the Life Fitness Family of Brands, including Life Fitness, Hammer Strength, Cybex and ICG®. The training facility will be used by Williams’ staff and the team’s drivers.

Frank van de Ven, Vice President International for Life Fitness, said: “Our partnership with Williams Racing is one with many shared values. Innovation, excellence, world class engineering and performance are principles that are at the core of both organisations, and we are very proud to continue our relationship with a team with such a strong heritage in Formula One.”

With technical regulations so heavily policed, "physical & mental fitness" becomes a "performance accessory" that can really make a difference. Why else would F1 attach so much importance to it?

James Bower, Commercial Director for Williams Racing, said: “As a Formula One team, performance and innovation are at the core of what we do, so we are pleased to be extending our partnership with Life Fitness and to continue providing state of the art fitness equipment to all our staff in our gym and training facilities here at the factory.”

Super Roo Racing's Andrew Seymour says that fitness in karting has as an equally important role: "If karting is the platform that prepares the next F1 drivers, it is vitally important that kids start to prepare their physical and mental fitness from an early age. And for parents, what's the point of investing in the best kart chassis and engine and regularly fitting fresh tyres if half a second of your lap time is lost simply because the driver is unfit and lacks focus!"

Junior kart driver Alex Seymour & Super Roo Racing will be in action at the next Rok Cup event in Thailand this weekend, 21 November, where the team will also be showing Life Fitness equipment.
